Game Design Document

A detailed design document for a yet-to-be-made horror game called Bound. Bound is a 2.5 side-scrolling horror/stealth game that follows a young girl trying to survive an apocalyptic world. In Bound’s world, fears have overtaken humanity and split the world into layers. Grotesque monsters now roam freely.

This document was made for a solo development game project. There are not currently plans to create it until I have finished my current solo project.

Level Designs and Mood boards

This is level designs and mood boards created for THEMALL. It details the mood boards created for some stores or areas, and then photos of that store or area in game.

Narrative Design Outline

A narrative design outline showing the voiced lines (highlighted in green), computer responses, and possible player answers. Out of Control is a interactive narrative about a conversion with an old computer. Players can only talk by copy and pasting previous responses. This document was created while I was writing for the game. The idea behind it was to help me map out what players could potentially say since they could use any combination of words on screen.

Story Stack

This is a short narrative document to outline a yet-to-be-made RPG. It’s a project I want to bring to life, but was having a hard time wrapping my mind around the world. I created this document to solidify my ideas, and get them on paper.

Writing Samples

A Phone Call (Short Horror Story)

A thousand word horror story that uses font, word size and formatting to create an “interactive” linear narrative. This piece was a way for me to experiment with the words on the paper to add more to a normal prose. I wanted the text to influence the reader in the same way visuals of a game influence a player.

The Wishbone (Short Story)

This was written for a month long writing challenge where the prompt was “wishbone.” When I first hear the prompt, my mind immediately jumped to superstitions, and how different people believe in different things.

Barks

Barks for a fictional tactical RPG, similar to Fire-Emblem. I added picrews of how I envisioned the characters to add to their voices.

Character Bios

Character bios for a potential “princess builder” visual novel. This is another project I hope to write one day. It is the typical revenge story, however, I want to write it from the point of view of the villain, where she is actually villainous. I feel that many “villain” main-character stories don’t allow their character to be fully villainous, and in this story I want to embrace that.

Branching Narrative

This is a section from the Twine game Of Dreams and Nightmares, which was made for a 48 hour game jam. The section has been translated from Twine nodes to a script.
